What is the lash lift and tint process?

And there’s another bonus: You’ll also be doing your lashes a favor by sparing them the wear and tear of daily mascara application and removal.

Don’t worry if you’d still like to complement your look with mascara, though. Just remember not to rub or tug at your lashes to remove it, which could disrupt your lift and tint in the process.

Lifts and tints are wonderfully low maintenance, but since the eye area is delicate, it’s important to follow a few simple steps to keep your lashes looking flawless.

For the first 48 hours after your service:

Be sure not to get the area around your eyes wet, as water can weaken your lift and affect the dye.
Avoid washing your face (use makeup-removing wipes instead), swimming, saunas, showers, or sweaty exercise routines. If you’d like to work out, stick to yoga, barre, or gentle, low-impact activities where you won’t sweat as much.

Hands off! Try not to rub or touch your eyes or face for the first couple days. Oil buildup on your lashes may prevent them from setting correctly.
Don’t sleep on your face for the first two nights. Your lashes may lose their shape, as they are more pliable after a lift. Instead, sleep on your side or back.
A cold compress can help if you experience any redness or irritation.

While lash lifts are a low-maintenance way to increase the volume and length of your eyelashes, knowing how to care for a lash lift can make your results last even longer. We’re here to give you the low-down on lash lift aftercare.

While a lash lift is meant to last several weeks with minimal maintenance, lash lift aftercare is essential — especially the first two days after your appointment. Without proper care, lashes can become dry and brittle and may lose their curl.

With proper maintenance, your eyelash treatment should last 4 to 6 weeks — meaning your natural lashes will have a fuller, longer look for at least a month.

Lash lift aftercare instructions: The first 48 hours

The first two days after your appointment are the most critical to protecting your lashes from potential damage that could shorten the life of your lift. Here are three tips for what to do after a lash lift.

1. Avoid moisture.

To protect your eyelashes, avoid getting water near your face for 48 hours. Water may interfere with the lash lift process, weakening the treatment solution and undoing the curl in your lashes. That means no washing your face, doing sweat-inducing workouts, going swimming, using saunas, or taking showers.

Use these tips to avoid water after your lash lift:

Shower and wash your hair before your appointment.
Use makeup remover wipes to cleanse your face (avoid your eyes).
